Following the diagnosis of their 6-year-old son Miles with type 1 diabetes, Chrissy Teigen and\u00a0John Legend, along with their young children, are adjusting to \u201ca different, new world for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teigen shared the news of her son\u2019s diagnosis with her followers in a Wednesday Instagram post after some of them noticed the young boy having a glucose monitor on the back of his arm on a photo of him holding up signs at the Paris Olympics.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of you noticed something a little special about a photo I posted a few days ago \u2014 Luna, Miles and I celebrating Simone (Biles) and team USA. Miles had his arm up, and soooo many of you reached out to say the most beautiful and incredible words I have ever witnessed on this platform,\u201d Teigen, 38, wrote in the post.
\n\u201cYou noticed his type-1 diabetes monitor and extended so much love and encouragement in every way possible. I was, and am, so blown away by the kindness of this community, already.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was then that doctors noticed something unusual in his blood results.<\/h2>\n

\u201cBut the doctors knew something else was off about his blood tests. I\u2019ve learned since then that this is how so many young children end up being diagnosed with type-1 going to the hospital for something different. After more testing, we learned he is in the \u2018honeymoon period\u2019 of a lifetime of T1. Last night we gave him his first shot of insulin and here we go! A different, new world for us and we are certainly learning so much on the fly.\u201d<\/p>\n
